Aleph - What is essentially the root significance of the Hebrew Letter Aleph × ? We find it as the Initial of the Divine Titles El & Elohim ×ל ××œ×•×”×™× and numerically it is equivalent to the number 1. So what essentially is the character conveyed in the very letter of the Hebrew Alphabet - Aleph × ? In order to understand what the Hebrew letter Aleph × , we must first compare and contrast its meanings and usages in the Torah. Aleph appears as the root of several words in the Torah, such as: Teach ×לף Job:33:33, Chief or Leader ×לוף Genesis:36:19, Guide or Mentor ×לופי Psalms:55:14, Master Teacher ×לוף Jeremiah:3:4, etc. Now lets examine each usage and see what it entails about the over-all meaning of the Hebrew letter Aleph ×. In the book of Job we find it (Aleph) used where it denotes Teaching. In the 33rd chapter and 33rd verse of Job, Elihu, the youngest of all Jobs Scholarly equals, who chastize him for not having enough Trust & Confidence in the Unseen-hand of God, tells Job that in humility he wishes for Job to completely surrender his attention to him and listen as he (Elihu) Teaches ו××לפך him (Job) Wisdom. The word used in this verse to denote Teaching is the word vA-Alephkah, which means I shall teach you Job:33:33. This word comes from the Hebraic root Aleph ×לף, which is essentially the Hebrew letter Aleph ×לף. In the book of Genesis chapter 36:19, we see it used to signify the Tribal leadership (Chiefs) of the Edomite ancestry. The edomite leaders were called in Hebrew Aloofim ××œ×•×¤×™× which is a term which denotes Mastery in war and Excellence in Leadership, this trait they inherited from their father Esau who was a real warrior and master hunter. Esa is noted as a Great Hunter Genesis:25:27, similar to Nimrod who also was noted as a Great hunter Genesis:10:9; in fact, there is even a Midrash (Midrash Rabbah to Genesis chap. 27) which says that when Esau returned from the field tired and ready to give up his birth-right for a meal, that he had just returned from killing the Mightest of All Hunters - NIMROD!!!!!!!! In the book of Psalms:55:14, the root Aleph appears in the word for Guide or Mentor which is: ×לופי Aloofi. As it is used here it denotes intellectual prowess as well as mentorship. Which now leads us to our final usage. Lastly, in the book of Jeremiah the prophet, God is described as a Master Teacher, who has guide Israel with His Teachings (Torah) from her (Israels) youth Jeremiah:3:4. The word for Master Teacher as used here in Jeremiah:3:4 is: ×לוף. In this verse we come to our main conclusion on what the Hebrew letter Aleph × truly signifies. The letter Aleph × spelled ×לף in Hebrew denotes God who is thee Master Teacher, it therfore also denotes teaching/guidance since it is founded on the revealed will of God via His Teachings (Torah). Since leadership begins first in the mind (Psyche) as an intellectual force which drives a Genuine Leader, it therefore also denotes the Highest levels of Tribal leadership (Chiefs), as we saw it referencing the Chiefs Aloofim ××œ×•×¤×™× of Edom Genesis:36:19. Let me conclude my thoughts shared here with a Spiritual gem. The Hebrew letter Aleph ×לף × as pictured in the pic I submitted in this post, actually consists of Two of the Herew letter Yods ×™×™ and the Hebrew letter Waw or Vav ו. Now the Hebrew letter Yod ×™ is numerically equivalent to the number 10 and the letter waw or vav ו is numerically equivalent to the number 6. Since in the letter Alpeh × there is a Yod ×™ in the Upper right and lower left corners which equals 20 and a waw or vav ו in the middle which is equivalent to 6, the sum of all of these letters is now 26; which is the numerical equivalency of the Divine name of God in the Torah (Jehovah) יהוה which is also equivalent to the number 26...... So, whenever you encounter the Hebrew letter Aleph × know that it denotes God, who is a Master Teacher, who left on record a Guide (Torah) for All of Man to follow in order to draw Ever closer to Him (God) - HalleluYah.
