DIY Marketing Center News Update #211 · DIY Member News & Schedule for Week of January 19-23, 2015 Email: New Policy That Affects Members Just like you, I get a TON of email. And not just newsletters and promotional stuff: I get questions from members about little things, like where to find a link, documents for Action Calls or Marketing Coaching meetings, and how to do stuff. Now, the problem here isnt the questions (which are totally valid), its that I dont have the bandwidth to answer so many questions and still do the rest of my work. Whats happening is that our community is growing and we have so much content and so many events that members have legitimate questions, but I just cant get to them all in time, and I feel awful! It is likely that some members feel pretty bad when I dont respond in a timely manner, so nobodys happy. Yuck! I seriously considered outsourcing customer service, but I realized that a better solution is to point all questions to our Facebook group. Many questions can be answered by other members, and for those that require my personal response, it would be nice for everyone to see that information instead of me repeating myself, dont you think? So lets do this: Please post questions about content or process in the Facebook group first. I will do my best to answer as many as I can, but the truth is that youre going to tap into a ton of experience and expertise and knowledge there, and some smart member is probably going to beat me to it. YAY! While were on the subject of email, if you want me to hold you accountable or review your materials at an Action Call or Marketing Coaching call, please upload your documents to iMeet when you log in to the virtual meeting, rather than emailing them to me before or during meetings. The one exception is your 1:1 coaching meetings with me: Please DO email me your prep before the meeting so I can be prepared. My goal is to provide the best possible service to you all, but that doesnt mean that I have to be the only resource. We have many members who really know their way around the membersite, the policies, and the technology, and who are willing to offer their support.
