Alex had labs done yesterday, hes not on any treatment except seizure meds. His platelets were 128k...my eyes welled up then I laughed at the pure insanity of it all. Alex said that he feels so good right now, he prefers to not go back on the chemo he was on before, but if a promising trial opens, he would try that. Hes 12 and I think he should have input into his care. I know he feels good without treatment; he has energy & is happy...but Im terrified at what price this comes with. After labs we drove to the memorial park, his brothers site was dirty, he kneeled down and wiped it clean. He said when he dies, he wants people to dance to YMCA at his service...We then visited the shelter & sat with the kitties, Alex had more food to drop off. On a happy note, the outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming & beautiful. We are so blessed in the midst of this hell. Although I work when I can, our co-workers continue to support us by donating hours, we have packages daily, generous donors on our YouCaring site, homemade treats, cards, even The Ellen Show surprised us with gifts....its really amazing & we are so grateful to everyone beyond words. Thank you!
