Alex identified a peak he wanted to climb across the lake. So we climbed into the kayaks, paddled 1 hour across Lake Chelan (extra bonus of wind and slow-as-molasses Josie crying and whining the whole way), landed at Mitchell Creek, Alex got stung by a bee, climbed a mile uphill on game trails through knee-deep sagebrush, got halfway up, Alex hurt his ankle jumping off a rock, we hobbled back down, climbed back in the kayaks, the wind whipped up again, and back we went. But only 45 minutes this time. And no one capsized. And the person who cried and whined the whole way declared, that was fun!
