Alexander Black House & Cultural Center Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting “Blacksburg’s Living Room” The Alexander Black House & Cultural Center will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, August 6th, at 10 a.m. on the lawn of the region’s new cultural center located at 204 Draper Road SW. (Regular business hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm) Beginning Friday, August 1st, events will take place throughout the month and provide unique opportunities for everyone to experience the Alexander Black House: • Aug 1 & 2 - Step into the Alexander Black House & Cultural Center during Steppin Out! • Aug. 6 - Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening: Ribbon Cutting 10am. Open House with self-guided tours, childrens activities, refreshments, information tent and more until 4pm. • Aug. 9 - Papermaking workshop with artist, Gibby Waitzkin sarvisberry/ • August 14 - Antique Appraisals, 6:30pm-8:30pm - Free appraisals for first 50 participants to register. • Aug. 21 - Historic Lecture Series - 6pm-8pm, Price House and Gardens (to be held at the Price House: 107 Wharton St. SE); speakers and refreshments; free to public. • Aug. 23 - Alexander Black Tie GALA (@Inn at VT), 6:30pm-11:30pm - Tickets on sale now! blacksburghistory.org. ow.ly/zvi55
