“Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay - TopicsExpress

“Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works.” (2 Timothy 4:14) Has the Apostle Paul become bitter in his old age? Has he forgotten the Lord’s command ‘to love your enemy’? Of course not, this is the Word of God and there is a lesson for us to learn. Paul was a faithful warrior and fought with tenacity even to the point to call out the enemies of God by name and hear we can and should follow suit. Calling out the wicked takes much wisdom, but we also need to call out the enemies of the God, by name so as to protect the saints. The wicked, like Alexander, seek to stop the advancement of God’s kingdom and people will remain in darkness and sin. Let us fight valiantly and call upon God to destroy His enemies so that the gospel will spread.
