To find out how we were doing, we asked our agents and customers to tell us how Alfa had played a role in their lives, from the insurance process to their experience filing claims. These are their stories. Stacy Moates Oxford, AL When the ice/snow storm hit Tuesday my daughter hit a patch of ice and smashed her car into a curb causing damage to front end and radiator. The car was disabled and she was off in another state at college. We submitted the claim on Thursday and within hours the adjuster had called, her car picked up and towed to the shop and rental car ready. Words cant express the relief I felt knowing she wasnt stranded and had a way to go. Thank you so much. Jane & Gary Hensarling Vicksburg, MS All of a sudden, a tree started falling in our direction. Needless to say, we were shaken up. Our Alfa Agent, Jerry Stewart, showed up just a few minutes after the tree fell on the house. He took over. and helped us get the tree off the roof so we could get the hole covered up with Visqueen before it really started raining bad. Of course, we had to have the framework of the house repaired, along with having a new roof put on. Within just a few weeks, the roof was finished; the indoors had been painted; the ceiling had been repaired. and Jerry saw us all the way through that. Every time we call on Alfa, Alfa responds quickly and effectively. And theyre gracious. You couldnt get any better in our opinion. Rita and Tommy Little Maplesville, AL Before April 27th happened, wed never known that type of fear. The house rumbled, a rumbled well never forget, and glass was breaking everywhere. When it was over, it was quiet, but then the rain started. We didnt really realize - because it was still dark - that the roof and ceiling had been pulled off the house. We tried our best to make it through the debris and got to the front porch. We remember Kendall [Williams], our agent, coming up the front steps. Just to see his face was unbelievable because it was so good to see someone that you knew and that you could count on during this time. It couldnt have been maybe an hour after the storm hit that he was here on the spot. I remember him taking our hands and just being very thankful that we were alive. He was there with us from the beginning and was literally here for us through the whole thing. Within three days, we had a check for our home. He walked us through everything, and I think thats why everything went so well - why we were able to recover as fast as we have. We were proud to have Alfa with us because they were here when we needed them. [Kendall] was not just our agent that day - he was our best friend. Willie Phillips Tuscaloosa, AL [On April 27,] We were all sitting watching television in the den, and the weatherman said the tornado was about to hit our house. By the time we got to the hall, it hit. It only lasted a couple minutes. I had to beat the door down in the hall to get out. I went outside and didnt think it was gonna be that bad, but the neighborhood was gone. Everything was gone. Alfa called me the next day. Thats one thing I like about Alfa - you can depend on them. Youve got security with them. Alfa settled my claim real quick. Less than two months from the day our house was destroyed, I was in the new house. [Alfas] been good to me. Id recommend them to anybody. Thomas Pugh Toney, AL Its the scariest thing Ive ever been through. When the tornado was coming, we all ran into the house and piled into the master bedroom closet. We huddled and waited for the storm to pass. It lasted maybe 15-20 seconds. When I went outside and looked at what had happened, wed lost many things. The neighborhood was destroyed. Within the week, my Alfa agent came to my work - without me knowing she was coming - and brought a check to me, which was an initial check to go against whatever claim I might file. When my claim went through, I didnt have to wait - it was almost immediate. Every other neighbor I had was waiting to hear from their agents, and they werent coming. They didnt get the response that I got. In fact, I was so proud that [my agent] came to my work that I told my neighbors about it, and all of them said, No one treated me like that. Nanette Warren Jasper, GA On a Friday, [my Alfa agent] called me and told me our policy had been approved, and she asked when she could come over to complete the signing of the policy. She was going in the office Saturday morning, so I told her that would be fine. We got together Saturday morning and signed the policy. Sunday morning, [my husband and I] got up as normal. We proceeded to get ready for our Sunday meeting, and he went into the congregation. Two minutes after he went in, he came back out, confused-looking. He just waved his hand at me. I panicked. They put us in a vehicle and took us to meet an ambulance. My husband had what appeared was a stroke, but later found out it was a brain tumor. a glioblastoma. Considering the fact that we signed the policy 24 hours previously to the time period he became gravely ill, I was nervous about calling and telling [our agent] what had occurred. When I spoke to her on the phone, she reassured me the policy was in place. The fact that I knew there was money that I could depend on being there helped me to know I wouldnt be destitute at my husbands demise. As soon as my husband passed away, I received a phone call. [Alfa] was completely reliable and assured me Id quickly receive my benefit, and I did. I would definitely recommend Alfa Insurance. They have been there every step of the way, and I am completely confident that they are a company that does exactly what they say theyre going to do. Kerri Hartford, Ala. It was absolutely as easy and comforting as possible. I joked with our agent because he was actually at my house before the fire department was. He was outside and he was talking to us and to the fire department. He had the clean up crew and the adjuster there at 7 the next morning. Alfa put us up in a hotel for 12 weeks. Our agent would call and check all the time to make sure everything was going right. Weve been great friends ever since. As bad of an experience as it was, our agent certainly made it as easy as possible. Sherita Warner Robins, Ga. Ive had a lot of positive experiences with Alfa over the years. One of the things I love about Alfa is that regardless of the office location, my agent always comes to me, which has been very convenient. It allows the customer to not have to take time off work. I think that is a plus for Alfa. Ive had some claims, but with any claim Ive had, Ive never had to call a second time or go any further than my agent. My agent takes care of everything, and I get my check in a timely manner. Ive stayed with Alfa because I havent had that type of service from anywhere else.
