Sonelgaz is responsible for the implementation of Algerias solar plan. According to the article, most of the projects will be located in the south of the country and in the highlands. Some of the capacity will be installed at existing conventional energy power plants to create hybrid systems. The Algerian Space Agency (ASAL) began installing solar radiation measurement tools at 10 facilities owned by SKTM in late October. ASAL will soon identify another 20 sites to install more solar radiation measurement units. The measurement tools are part of a broader project managed by ASAL since 2012 aimed at assessing Algerias solar potential. In late April, the Algerian government published the new FITs for ground-mounted PV installations in the country’s official journal. Algeria’s Ministry of Energy and Mining (DEM) now grants PV projects between 1 and 5 MW a FIT of 15.94 DZD ($0.20) per kWh for a period of 5 years, followed by a FIT ranging from 20.08 DZD to 11.80 DZD for 15 years. The rate depends on the system’s annual production and location. PV projects over 5 MW are granted a FIT of 12.75 DZD per kWh for the first 5 years, followed by a FIT of 16.06 DZD to 9.44 DZD for 15 years. © PHOTON letempsdz letempsdz/content/view/135746/1/
