Ali ibn talib r.a and what he said when he heard the news of abu bakr r.a becoming the caliph i shall say to you what the messenger of Allah s.a.w said on the day of uhud : keep your sword sheathed and do not cause us grief by your loss. Go back to madinah if i were to lose you islam would never prosper after that Recorded by ibn katheer with a sound chain. Abu bakr went back . If ali r.a had been discontent with abu bakr caliphate n had given his oath of allegiance then this would of been the perfect oppurtunity for him but thats what ali ibn talib r.a had said to abu bakr Hasan ibn ali said he heard his father say if anyone gives precedence to me over abu bakr and umar r.a i shall give him the lashes prescribed by Allah for the fornicator Ali ibn talib r.a also said shall i not tell you the best of the ummah after the prophet s.a w ? They are abu bakr r.a and umar ( ahmad)
