All 10 defendants in the Anthony Ibarra murder trial entered pleas of not guilty today in a Santa Maria courtroom. The defendants are charged with the March 17th torture and murder of the 28-year-old Ibarra in a west Santa Maria home. Judge Rick Brown set their trial date for May 12th of next year. The defendants all appeared in court for their arraignment. Attorneys for each of the defendants entered pleas of not guilty and denied all special allegations which include gang enhancements. The trial and jury selection is expected to last eight to 10 weeks. All but two of the defendants are due back in court on Dec. 13th for a readiness and settlement hearing.
