All Ive ever wanted was to help people. It has cost me my job, my mental health, my relationships with my friends and family, every penny I have. I have never been in the news for helping people, but I would like to be. Im still legally married to a salaried-business owner who is locking me out of my own house & wont spot me $50 for food for a week. I spent the last of my savings to drive to the Grand Rapids Feminist Film Festival because thats how much I value womens rights. I want to be a motivational speaker about things like womens rights, bullying, the stigma of mental health services, and suicide prevention. The winter of 2013-2014 I wanted to be 6 feet under more than anything in the world. I felt like a burden to the world and my own family. I was so empathetic to the cost of my own funeral that I was selling all my possessions to ease my familys already tight finances. My Dad is not even 60 and has a health battle of his own. My mother is his full-time caregiver & lives with chronic daily stress. It has effected the health of my whole family. On August 24th of this year, I #Obama on Facebook & that very night, slept at a womens shelter because a local drunk threatened my life. The very next day I was served court papers from two Michigan State Police officers for psychiatric care. I was hospitalized for almost two weeks, I was basically in jail with better food.
