All Life Exists in Balance - Day #36 It’s so true. The happiness I felt when my sons were born was balanced by the sorrow of their leaving home. The true sadness comes when I realize that I had no idea they would ever leave! Well, not on the day they were born, anyway. But, leave they did; and now our friendship is the gift of those long, sleepless nights as a parent of young children. Seek balance in your grieving. When you’re ready, set limits on the time you’ll spend in the shadow of loss. For every minute spent there, allow yourself one minute of peace, quiet reflection on a sunset, or a stroll in a garden; find an equal measure of happiness.
