All Members of SACS As you are aware this page is an “OPEN” page, you only have to “like” it to become a member. This carries with it some risks ie anyone can join including, ex prisoners and prisoners families. We could make this page a “Closed Group” or a “Secret Group” however doing this does not alleviate the problem as I or any of my management team can’t carry out criminal history checks on prospective members, and realistically we have had very little problems (so far) in this area. I also believe by making the page a Closed or Secret Group then we may look like we have something to hide and end up highlighting us to the powers that be. In my experience of Closed or Secret Groups members also think that they can say anything which invariably bites them. This being the case there is no point in changing our status as we have nothing to hide. I know that I go on about “appropriate, respectful comments”, and being “Code of Conduct and Security” compliant, I do this to protect both you and us and keep all ACCOUNTABLE. Myself and the Management team strive to keep this page professional and supportive and encourage all to send us contributions of any type. SLAG FESTS have no constructive value and achieve nothing. Remember if you wish to remain ANON for a comment or a topic just send us a PM under the message tab on the page. ANON is always respected. Our NO TOLERANCE POLICY will be enacted if necessary but is used as a last option unless the act that initiated it was so that it required immediate action. Lastly The PRIVATE vs GOVERNMENT employee debate needs to CEASE. We are all officers doing the same job and as such whoever pays us is irrelevant. Both sides are responsible so please from here on in any Private Vs Government disrespectful comments will be deleted. I understand that there is the Privatisation threat in many states (including mine) however some members are commenting very disrespectfully and making it personal toward other officers this is not to happen.
