All Sri Lankan political parties must respect the ’vote’, says Friday Forum The Friday Forum, an informal and self-financed group dedicated to democracy, good governance, human rights and the rule of law, has urged all ‘parties’ to protect and uphold the franchise, which “we the people have enjoyed for over eight decades, and in the free and responsible exercise of which lies the hope for future generations”. In a statement this week, the Colombo-based group said that these suggestions are being made based on the priority the Forum places on good governance, maintenance of the rule of law, and other civil society expectations.
