All Things Testify: Remember on Tuesday I mentioned driving to work in the fog and the weatherman said The fog will burn off quickly once the sun is up. It made me think of how much confusion and emotional fogginess could be burned off from our lives by moving Gods word off our bookshelf and into our thoughts, words, and deeds. This poems a little heavy...but then so is feeling like you are all on your own. (Important Note: Youre not :-) ) FOG vs THE SUN (we already know the winner!) She didn’t know how they would make it Three kids and her – long on their own. Though family and friends sometimes helped out In her heart she felt so alone. With tires in need of retreading And slick spots to cross on her way She rose in the moonlight of morning To wearily face a new day. With dreams of the night now forgotten She gave a quick pat to the dog And quietly opened the front door And stepped out into a thick fog. The air, like her thoughts, blurred her vision She prayed just to get through the murk She focused her gaze on the white line And hoped it would lead her to work. How long would this fog in her life last? When would clouds of doubt be dispersed? She prayed for a sign as an answer As through the dense fog she traversed. In time and with help things got better Somehow strengthened, she carried the load And even found time to serve others As peace from her faith freely flowed. The morning fog brought back these memories She searched her mind looking for clues Of how her confusion was lifted Her answer came right from the news. “The fog will burn off when the sun’s up” --She instantly knew in her heart ‘Twas God’s Son, Jesus Christ who had burned off Her fog and gave her a new start.
