All Things Work Together for Good. There is a governing principle - TopicsExpress

All Things Work Together for Good. There is a governing principle that underlies every dealing in a life that is yielded to God: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” Roman 8;28 It is the principle of deep-seated trust and confidence in the wisdom and faithfulness of God in all things. If you will join brother Paul and other saints of old to run a good race and to finish your course with joy, then you must know what they knew. You must be similarly persuaded in your innermost being. Brother Paul says “we know” others may be wondering what keeps us going in the face of apparent conflicts and frustrations, but, “we know”. Many can recite this important verse of the bible, but how many actually know this truth? Note that it says ‘All things’ with no exceptions. These include experiences that seem to nullify several promises of God for your life. ‘All things’ include births and deaths, sickness and health, profit and loss, pain and comfort. They include a righteous promotion as well as a mischievous query; an applause as well as a rebuke. All saints came to know that God in His wisdom had a purpose for all things; and so were freed from anxiety, suspicion and agitations. Note also that it says, ‘Work together for good’. The experiences God chooses to pass your life through are working together towards a target good. This good is according to His purpose. Your present frame cannot contain the depth of the riches of the glory of our inheritance in Him, towards which He fashions your life. But He knows where He is going, and can be trusted to take you there in one piece. Therefore, take note that your experiences, be they sweet, bitter, sour or flat, are not working towards many separate ends. Each of them is designed to contribute its aspect towards an eventual good according to the purpose of God. Here is where several people have missed it. It is wrong for you to sit down and analyze the effect and implications of any one experience in isolation. You are also totally misguided any time you draw conclusions on God’s faithfulness and love in your life, based on a set of difficulties you have faced at various times, taken in isolation, as you watch Him at work. If you would wait patiently enough, the resulting beauty will soon appear. All the strokes are relevant together, though meaningless in isolation. They all work together for good. Consider also! A good pot of soup is as a result of several condiments of various tastes and flavours brought together. Should you permit each condiment to work separately on your taste buds and entire digestive system by taking each singly, you may not likely enjoy your meal. But what a beautiful blend they all result in when introduced in their correct proportions at the appropriate times and temperature. Together, they result in a delicious and nourishing pot of soup. THEY ALL WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD. Finally, note the bible says: “...to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” It is to them that love God, who are the called according to His purpose that the entire foregoing discussion applies. It is very relevant for you to soberly check your life. Do you love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind (Matthew 22:37)? Have you heeded His call to be born of Him; and to enter into His purpose concerning your life? Are you genuinely born again? Does your life attest to this? Do you live every aspect of your life only to please God? Are you in any doubt of your standing in Christ, of your relationship with God or of your victory over sin? Culled from Living seed Vol 3.
