All applicants please email resumes directly to [email protected] with the subject line of the Position Title and City and State Instrument Tech I (New Construction) Location: Owensville, Indiana and Texas Position Summary: Instrument technicians are responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating electronic equipment and gauges that control, regulate, and/or monitor a mechanical system. Position Duties: Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, isometric drawings, engineering instructions, and manufacture instructions Install, repair, maintain, and calibrate electronic equipment, controls, and measuring devices. Tests and analyze electronic and measuring equipment for accuracy and functionality. Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems. Complete reports on tests, repairs, and installations for all work requested to complete. Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: 4+ years’ experience in instrumentation or illustrate comparable level of knowledge. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and P & IDs, isometric drawings, and other required documentation. Able to check performance using testing and measuring instruments and make necessary adjustments. Knowledge of electrical theory and how to apply it to connecting, wiring, and calibrating electronic devices. Knowledge of working with gauges and other measurement devices. Experience in calibration both performing and working with calibration laboratories. Able to work with low and high pressure tubing/piping systems. Willing to follow all company and project policies, rules, and guidelines. Willing to assist in any additional qualified duties assigned. Ability to pass pre-employment health and drug screens Valued but not required: Formal education or vocational training. Experience in instrumentation in new construction and industrial maintenance. Physical demands and Work Environment: Physical demands: Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. As needed will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms. Must be capable of working outside in the elements including heat, cold, rain, snow and wind. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limiting to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fall arrest harness, face shield, ear plugs, and goggles. Work environment: Noise levels will be moderate to high. Jobsite will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
