All-around effort leads Ville Platte (12) past Dequincy 11-1. The game was broadcast live on the Bayou Sports Network by Randy Guillory. Ville Platte beat Dequincy 11-1 Thursday behind both the bat and the arm of Dino Deshotels. Dino racked up four RBIs on two hits for Ville Platte. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning. Deshotels shut down Dequincy while he was on the mound. Dequincy managed just one hit off of the Ville Platte pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his 1 1/3 innings of work. Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed Ville Platte to easily put away Dequincy. A walk by Deagen Mitchell and a three-run home run by Dino during the first inning and a two-run double by Christian Duplechin, a two-run double by Mitchell, and an RBI single by Lucas Vallet in the second inning supplied the early offense for Ville Platte. Cooper Hext took the loss for Dequincy. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
