All dressed up and ready for the prom. Decided to go with BN #03149 for the number since it cant be found on rrpicturearchives.net but sits within the range of other BN heavyweight MofW. Back story is this was their fire-fighting training car before BN976005 came along. Front part was the classroom and the baggage area was the practical lab, so to speak. Theyd fill the baggage with steam to simulate a smoke-filled compartment. The students would suit-up in a small vestibule between the two rooms (first metal covered window after glass). Nowadays its a gigantic junk drawer with shop material and all kinds of stuff pickers would love to get their hands on. Model-wise I reinforced the steam generators large dilapidated exhaust stack (a piece of sprue and a MT 6-wheel coupler adapter thingy) with a paper clip all the way through praying it wouldnt come out cockeyed as I was hand-drilling it. I also added a couple more vent stacks since the generator was gas fired (doubled over paperclip through two holes - one for air the other a gas vent). Looking at the picture I have to cut some black construction paper, weather it and glue it to top of the stairs treads. Other than that. Done!
