Gray Pride Café, October 4, 2013, is pleased to announce our guest speaker is Jerry Calumn, activist, comic, author and producer. Jerry worked at Resource Center as Education and Clinic Manager from 1988-1999. He has worked medical communications and was the Founding Executive Director of the American Academy of HIV Medicine and worked to create the specialty of HIV Medicine. His activism took a different turn when he became a stand-up comic in Los Angeles, and a regular at the Comedy Store and the Hollywood Improve. He also produced the TV show Outlaugh for the LOGO Network. His humor is refreshing, insightful, and even provocative. Promises to be an evening of laughter, great refreshments, and community. Women’s Book Club Starting October 5, 2013 Gray Pride of Resource Dallas is pleased to announce the formation of a Lesbian Book Club. Sheila Coughlin will be facilitating the group and the first title they will explore is Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. The group will meet on the first Saturday of each month from 6:00-8:00 – first group is Saturday, October 6. . Angelou’ book is a classic which we are going to revisit for many and introduce to some, Join us for conversation, camaraderie, and great reading. Women of all ages are welcome – good literature is timeless. Bring whatever you wish to drink and treats t to share. It would make the evening more special if your culinary contribution was inspired by the book!
