All great messages are spoken not in words, but in symbols. This - TopicsExpress

All great messages are spoken not in words, but in symbols. This allows for the wise to understand, and for the foolish to shrug it off as nonsense. It weeds out those that deserve the knowledge, and those that dont. Symbolic language is an active pursuit of truth, whereas spoken language is passive. Meaning, symbolic language requires the interlocutor to actively engage with the symbol in order to understand the meaning. Whereas linguistic meaning is a passive process in which the interlocutors consciousness is filled up by the words. The sublime is masked by the obvious. Revelations are concealed in nonsense. Yet, not all nonsense is valuable. Not all obvious things contain the sublime. A word to the wise: keep a discerning eye.
