All in a morning’s caching! 1. Happily head off along canal tow path following hubby who absolutely knows which way to go. 2. Arrive at GZ and check GPS on mobile ‘phone to narrow down the search area. 3. “No nearby caches” … swear at GPS for not working. Reboot ‘phone and try again. 4. Swear some more. 5. Find details by “search by cache name” (luckily could remember what it was!) 6. SUCCESS! Found details. Walk around watching the distance decrease, then increase and then decrease again. Further swearing. 7. Realise that I am reading 773m as 7.73m. 8. Put on glasses and realise mistake. 9. Stand and look at each other in puzzlement. 10. Stand whilst hubby gets map from pocket and exclaimes “oh, it’s the wrong drawbridge! I forgot there are two!” 11. Retrace steps to starting point, adding a mile to our ramble. (bear in mind that prior to October I was not leaving the house and not even walking around a supermarket!) 12. Arrive at GZ, find cache, sign log and carry on with list of caches. 13. Lessons learnt … do not trust hubby’s certainty of which way to go. Check GPS sooner and wear your glasses!!!!! xXx
