All it takes is one person (or one small group of people) to change history. It took Johnathan Edwards to preach one sermon to birth the Great Awakening. It took a group of men to sign the Declaration of Independence. In my music history study for my art project, I see that all it took was revolutionary music to transform culture. Each decade there was something different. However, this one song (album really) of Metallica changed music history and propelled/created the thrash/metal culture. Since then, millions of people have been impacted by their music. I am saying all of this and posting this only for the sake of bringing up this question: What are you doing thats revolutionary? What if bands like Metallica were Spirit-filled revivalists that had that amount influence over culture? That messes with your head doesnt it? It messes with your head because so many have been trained to believe that Christians have to do all of their art inside the walls of the church with the name Christian attached to it. But what about transforming culture and bringing in a great harvest of souls by not doing art within the church walls? The way Christians are going to be influential is if we go into culture to transform it instead of culture transforming us. We have to get out of the walls of the church and go after the lost. One of the best examples of a music artist doing this today is Lecrae in rap, but where are the rockers? We must be carriers of the fire of God instead of allowing the culture to influence the world. Its time for the revival remnant to rise up in culture and gain influence over mass amounts of souls. If this video of Metallica makes you angry that I posted it then I suggest this: Offer something to the world as a fire revivalist that is equivalent in influence as this. Dont just complain about something. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
