All men are born equally free & independent, & have certain inherent & indefeasible rights, among which are those of enjoying & defending life & liberty, of acquiring, possessing & protecting property & reputation, & of pursuing their own happiness. What weirdness is &rea spewing? Just Article 1, Section 1 of the PENNSYLVANIA Constitution. Notice the line acquiring, possessing & protecting property? Great, notice it AGAIN! ACQUIRING, POSSESSING & PROTECTING PROPERTY Why do I implore you to re-read it? Because its in the FIRST section of the FIRST article! This means it is one of THE most important rights We the People of Pennsylvania have! The authors of our State Constitution thought so highly of it, that they put it right there at the forefront! Now, we also have other unalienable rights, but none of THOSE are being taxed in the same way as our inherent & indefeasible right to acquiring, possessing & protecting property. The current so-called keepers of the state Constitution (if you disagree with that phrase, go see what the oath of office requires them to say) have no problem trampling this right. Why, I ask ,WHY should our right to acquire, possess, & protect property be interfered with by the possibility of having that property SEIZED due to taxation? The government of this Commonwealth has NO right to override the basic law of our land & steal what we own! Yet when we vote for a candidate OR incumbent who does not support property tax reform, we are giving them carte blanche to wipe their feet on such an important document! Think about this when you head to the polls next month to vote for State Representative. Is YOUR candidate a supporter of the PA Constitution or is (s)he alright with letting his/her constituents become homeless because of a law that defies Article 1, Section 1? I cannot speak for all districts, but there is at least one candidate in each of the 101st & 102nd districts who WILL fight for property tax reform. Let me add that those in the 101st NEED to be aware that the INCUMBENT does not support such reform! Again, she does NOT support YOUR inherent & indefeasible right of acquiring, possessing & protecting property. Take a moment to learn about YOUR candidates & especially your incumbents, Pennsylvania. We are poised to be able to make a big, positive change in the Commonwealth. Will YOU be part of it?
