All my Restaurant and Hospitality People....Help me understand!!! I have a reservation for dinner (made online 30 days in advance) for a Saturday night at 9pm. The hostess calls to confirm my reservation time and number of guests. I ask to push the reservation time back by 15 minutes. Hostess responds, We dont have a reservation at that time. I replied, I dont understand. We have a reservation at 9pm, why wouldnt the same table be available at 9:15pm?. She answers, We go by reservations times, not tables... So, if my reservation is for 9pm, would my guests and I be sitting at the table at 9:15pm anyway? Why is it such a big issue to push back 15 minutes for a table Ive already reserved?
