All of my brothers and I knew very young (prob 4 yrs old) about why we flew our beautiful American flag from our little house in Norwalk, what Memorial Day/Veterans Day stood for and that we had freedom bcz so many of our precious soldiers died fighting to make sure we kept it. Obviously my daddy was a Vietnam Vet but he never ever ever talked about Nam. What he was very into was WW2. On D Day my brother Mark Collier posted a few emotion filled posts about D Day (at least to Me bcz I understood where he was coming from being raised in the Collier house.) I noticed he didnt get many likes on his posts which saddened me soooo much bcz many have either forgotten what our Grandpas went through or dont know. Well Kennedy is a question asker like her mama and we talked about D Day in great depth yesterday. I want to tell my brother thank you for remembering what dad instilled in us and I encourage you guys to tell your kids what you know about WW2 and the beaches of Normandy and Hitler and racism and how there were many wonderful Godly people who tried to hide the Jews even tho they could be killed and how our soldiers were only 18, 19, 20 yr old kids but they were heroes. We cant forget our history and if you can make it personal plz do. My girls both listened intently as I told them what I knew and there wasnt a dry eye in the car. Its one of the things that I remember as a child, being so proud to be an American and having an attitude of gratitude towards our soldiers that carried on in me til always. Breanna Glass thank you for sharing this pic girl!!!! Wow Im bawling writing this and to ALL of our Vets, Soldiers and their families thank you sooooo much for your sacrifices!❤️
