All of this was so strange to me 44 years ago as my mother and then my father an old line oil field consultant of all people were Baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoke with tongues and were publicly kicked out of their Southern Baptist Church on a Sunday morning. So I began to read the Bible as an act of rebellion and then a certain book on this and one night by myself 40 years ago I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoke with tongues, still do, along with 500 to 700 million Christians around the world now. What happened, within 7 months in 1974 I left the oilfield went to Bible school, in 8 months I was a youth minister in a church in Dallas, in 15 months made my first trip to Israel for a few months, worked in and out of the oilfield for 40 years, lived in Jerusalem for 14 years, traveled and preached all over Europe including eastern Europe, in different countries in the middle east, Singapore, Japan, worked with many different people groups and have seen the miracles of God. On Sunday my wife and I were in Desoto, Texas watching a couple of our grandchildren race in BMX bicycle racing and as we drove past Christ for the Nations in Dallas where we went to school and met, we had a discussion on where life had taken us the last 40 years. She looked at me and said, I wouldnt change anything about our life together, except for a few small mistakes we made, but overall it has been wonderful and exciting for real life in Jesus is wonderful. The church was born and on the day of Pentecost in an initial outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and it is going out with that same Holy Spirit igniting the whole world.
