Roles and Responsibilities Being lead by the Holy Spirit Teacher: Loves to share the gospel with others. Teachers must attend a VBS training session. Teachers must come to the class prepared to teach, train and set the tone (role model) for students for the assigned teaching day. Teachers must develop nurturing relationships with students and maintain class discipline. Teachers must be able to convey the Biblical message in a meaningful way to the students. Teachers must teach the established VBS lesson for that day, which will be provided in advance. Teachers much prepare room for classes (set-up and clean-up) Teachers should become an Assistant on a different night. Teacher Assistant: Loves to share the gospel with others. Assistants must attend a VBS training session. Assistants must be a helper to the Teacher on assigned night(s). Assistants must be willing to fill in if an assigned teacher is unable to attend. The assistant should review and be familiar with the lesson for the day. Assistants must help the teacher and students carry-out class activities. Assistants must help keep accurate records by taking attendance and offering, distribute name tags to everyone in the class, assist with restroom breaks, help maintain discipline, and help to stay on schedule by keeping time. Teachers much prepare room for classes (set-up and clean-up) Child Care / Nursery Coordinator Child Care/Nursery coordinators and workers must attend a VBS training session. Child Care/Nursery coordinators will assign and train nursery workers for children under the age of 4 year old. Coordinator will schedule workers according to number of registered children requiring daycare. Child care coordinator will help plan activities to be carried out in the daycare Child care coordinators must prepare room for classes (set-up and clean-up) Craft Coordinator: Loves to help create craft projects Selects best crafts for students of every age level and directs daily craft activities Plans, organizes, and prepares daily crafts that reinforce the daily lesson focus Communicates effectively with students on how to complete the crafts Craft leaders must be patient and creative, as the children will be antsy when they see all the supplies they will get to use. Completes and turns in craft supply list before VBS begins Fellowship Coordinator: Enjoys preparing good food for others Plans, organizes, and prepares food and drinks for participants each day Checks for any foods that might trigger food allergies or other complications Makes sure there is enough food and supplies for all students Completes and turns in food supply list before VBS begins Registration: Dependable and organized with a gentle spirit Registration Team Members must coordinate and facilitate pre-registration and onsite registration (includes distributing name tags, directing students to classes, assisting with crowd control) Registration Team Members must summarize attendance and offering daily Registration Team Members must arrive 30 minutes prior to start of VBS Attendance Coordinator: Dependable and organized with a gentle spirit – willing to assist with all ages Attendance Coordinator ensures daily that VBS attendees are directed to the proper classroom Knows the class structure and age groupings for all students Ensures that classes transitions on a timely manner and is also aware of where their assigned classes are on a daily basis. Ensures that classes have the proper amount of material for their class, and if needed will make sure copies are made and available. Will assist in reminding teachers and students of scheduled days to teach and call regarding absenteeism Security and Church campus Well being Provides in building and outside security awareness for VBS participants arrival and departure Ensures that building is opened and secured at the start and ending of VBS nightly Assist in directing and making sure VBS participants are safe and secure Transportation Coordinator Helps establish transportation parameters for guest Ensures and provides oversight of VBS participants requiring transportation Coordinates and ensures van transportation is provided to and from church premises for those needing transportation. Music Coordinator: Sensitive to leading youth in worship Learns music and words to songs on the Jesus Family Reunion- The Remix Prepares music for opening and closing assemblies Teaches students the theme song and assist with closing event music needs
