All right, I followed the dogs up and down one way streets. Female came close to being hit twice. I stopped a man and asked, he said another woman we saw walking knew them. She took me down to an apartment building that she said they lived in. That means they did not accidentally get out, not if they live in an apartment building. The front hall door was unlocked, when opened both dogs ran right to one of the apartment doors. I banged over and over. No answer. The dogs ran up stairs to another door, I banged on that one, no answer. I went outside to get phone and the female tried to get out so I hit the door with my foot and closed it to tight, it locked. At least the dogs were in the hall and safe but that wasnt good enough for me. I am angry they let these beautiful animals out in the street but more pissed that the female is nursing. I had called animal control twice and a very nice man came out. Told him the dogs were more locked in the hallway. If they hadnt been he could have taken them to the shelter which would have been the best. Kicking myself for locking the door. Up stairs neighbor spoke to me thru the bell speaker, said she would call the neighbor downstairs and let her know dogs were out in hall. But I didnt tell her ACO was outside the door with a citation in his hands. I would have liked to speak to her about the puppies and spaying the mother. But he suggested I leave since I have be in the neighborhood feeding and dont want any trouble.
