All right. Ive been trying to stay out of all this mess, because anything I say is gonna piss someone off, but this shit is too much. If one of the first things about this that strikes you about this cartoon isnt the utter irony of it, you are part of the problem. Let me be very clear. There was nothing - NOTHING WHATSOEVER - unconstitutional or illegal about the executive action Obama took on immigration. Its SCOPE is unprecedented, but that doesnt make it illegal. Unconstitutional and illegal are not synonyms for, This President I dont like did something else I dont like. It does not represent a change to the law, not in any sense. It simply represents a change in the priorities and paradigms of enforcement - which is not only within the purview of, but in fact the PURPOSE of, the executive branch. Hes the President whether you or I like it or not. And as President, he has the power to tell ICE how to do business. That is the Presidents JOB. And if you jump on this bandwagon? Youre giving him what he wants. The President has just given the Republicans the perfect opportunity to make themselves look like fools and liars - and callous, petty little pricks who dont care about productive people with children - you know, FAMILIES - who were here years before this whole current kerfluffle started. And far too many of them are taking the bait.
