All right, so my Viking forefathers, 1,000+ years ago, were - TopicsExpress

All right, so my Viking forefathers, 1,000+ years ago, were monstrously violent and bloodthirsty. No argument. But then I read this: Overall, the Scandinavians have a lot to apologise for. Oh, really? So we present-day Scandinavians should accept GUILT for what our forefathers did -- and apologize? Not on my watch: I am morally responsible only for what I do. This is a great example of how collectivism infests even a plain, journalistic article. As I like to say to people who obsess over things like ancestry and genealogy: It is no moral reflection on me, if my father was either Thomas Edison or Adolf Hitler -- so why should it it matter who my grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-father was?
