All seems to be quiet on the School Board elections front. Will Streit and Aaron Johnson are both up for reelection and so far are running unopposed. The deadline for filing for a place on the May 10 ballot is Friday, February 28, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. * The District has a total debt at maturity of $3.7 Billion. * The residents were told that the last round of Bond sales would be for $150 - $162 million yet magically became $206 million with a repayment of $1.1 Billion dollars - $5.85 for every $1 borrowed. * Of 427 school districts in Texas that have capital appreciation bonds backed by the Permanent School Fund, Lenader owns 15.7% of ALL CAB principal and 21.3% of ALL CAB Interest. * According to the Districts own Demographer reports (2009-2013) growth is actually trending lower year over year. We are still growing but at a much slower rate. Over the past several months there has been a tremendous amount of research completed and posted to this page. When casting your vote consider this - what information have you received from your Board of Trustees? Where is their analysis of the facts and issues facing the District and impacting your childrens education and your taxes?
