All students at Ntcheu Secondary School have been sent home following an indefinite closure of the school today. Authorities have closed the school after the students set ablaze property and demolished staff houses in protest at the suspension of some 20 of their colleagues whom management said were skipping classes for no valid reason. Seven students have been arrested, according to Ntcheu police public relations officer Gift Matewere.
