All the JFK stuff is flooding the media right now...I am finding it incredibly depressing. Images of and talk of and theories about the Kennedy assassination and then RFK were such a presence in my childhood. It was always there. And every year around Thanksgiving, thered be TV specials or movies about him, in remembrance, like Years of Lightning, Day of Drums. His presence was still part of the zeitgeist, even until the late 70s when I was a teenager. Now, its 50 years! Theres a palpable distance. And, for some reason, I find the name of the film (based on Bill OReillys book), Killing Kennedy, kind of disrespectful. Guess I am more old-school than I realized...
