All the animals have been fed, and I am thinking of fixing myself some toast. I always check the newsfeed first thing in the morning to see if there is a horse or a situation that we could help with, and I came across a status that meant enough to me to want to share it. Heres another example of a need thats not exciting enough to donate to --- an old used-up mare that arrived quietly and without hoopla. BUT, shes just as worthy and in need as the eye-candy and high-visibiltiy rescues. SORRY LISA, I JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS.. Ohanas thoughts on this status...THIS IS SO TRUE...there are horses out there, that are not a high risk, they havent been posted all over the internet, they are not failing and needing IMMEDIATE emergency care, they are just hungry, just need teeth done, older...a baby...but they receive no donations...this is confusing to me...all animals need love and attention. I know that when we have a serious situation Ohana will receive donations, we have many many earth angels, BUT, and please do not get upset with me, BUT THERE ARE LIFERS, lifers that need special minerals, medicines, time, and extra food..they need their teeth done, feet done, and as Lisa at HelpingHearts said, its not exciting enough....can anyone help me understand..I know for a fact that there is a rescue out there, that will ONLY take the emergencies, ones that will get them exciting news and donations...is that a rescue, or situation that can bring in monies...what about the lifers needs, the elderly needs, the healthy needs, the ones that are just waiting for their forever human..what about them? Horses are horses...whether sick, or healthy, whether sound or lame, whether fat or skinny...THEY ALL HAVE NEEDS, mind body and soul...just remember paying it forward helps you feel good about yourself, the rescue that helps the animals they feel good about themselves, because they are taking your gift, and putting it towards the horses, which make the horses better, which in turn makes the humans better...it is a circle of life...Pay it forward...not just for EXCITING situations, but for LIFEs needs...food, hay, medicine, vet care and farrier...JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE SAVED, DOES NOT END THE PROCESS WITH THE RESCUES...THAT IS THE FIRST AND EASIEST STEP... https://fundrazr/campaigns/3rBa3/ab/5fzif?
