All the comments and support for the civil disobedience is really bothering me... Why has a public leader issued such an irresponsible statement/invitation in the middle of a protest? To all my friends who are buying the idea and following it like another fashion trend... plz stop and think before you engage in hero worship and blind order following... Our first and foremost responsibility is to get active in enforcing our rights and discharging our obligations towards our society and country. .. We have let this govt. In power by our vote and we can oust them procedurally and legally by pressuring our constituency MP to withdraw his vote in Parliament and claim no confidence ln PM. If we do not keep our authorities accountable to serve right, even the best and most ethical and moral govt. Will fall corrupt gradually because of open and free opportunities. .. We often do not ask for our rights because we are at another end we are not fulling our duties either so we settle for an exchange. .. We must respect the minimum wage law, pay the bills in time and in full, care for public property and state resources, boycott people and businesses who evade taxes and waste resources, question the local MP for any shortfalls in the area... The corrupt govt. Cannot survive in front of active right seeking and duty fulfilling citizens... We have to transform ourselves to achieve a new Pakistan! !! Civil disobedience will only make matters worse and hurt our own fellow countrymen rather than the corrupt govt. We should rather: Resolve never to give bribes to get our CNIC, driving licence, passports and other.documents made. Resolve to meet and assess the candidate before we vote in the election and follow him up on progress and hold him accountable for any mismanagement. Resolve to respect the rights of poor and rich alike. Resolve not to litter the roads, wear seatbelts and drive by the rules. Resolve to not be part of lobbies, prejudice, sectarian divide or provincial/lingual bias. Resolve to hold every corrupt authority figure ( provincial or federal) accountable and make them pay for their deeds rather than letting them a safe passage to flee the country... Support the right cause in the right way to get the right results!!! Sincere regards and prayers for my country and fellow citizens. .. Sarwat N. Shah
