All this angst about CC really amounts to a communication issue I think. Teachers think administrators are idiots. Administrators think teachers are idiots. Aristotelian dualism at its worst! I do believe that most problems in schools are leadership issues, not teacher issues. But thats just my experience as an administrator speaking. 17 of my 41 years in education were spent as an administrator (and I loved it). I view an administrative job as another teaching opportunity, another classroom. I worked with a Sup once who said that admin was a special career all its own, separate from teaching. I couldnt disagree more. That is like making singing so mysterious it keeps you coming back (and paying!) for more lessons. The Common Core, like most things in life, is not rocket science. Now, THAT is a rarified profession.
