She was using her phone when walking into her apartment, and the attackers took a chance to get it. Lesson: dont walk with your phone in your hand. Keep your phone in your pocket! Not only will it stay out of sight from muggers, you will then be free to be aware of your surroundings. 2. Notice that when she had one guy on her, she held her own. Great job!! She didnt wilt and she fought back. Thats probably a good part of why she survived with minor injuries and they didnt get her phone, either. 3. Multiple opponents are definitely a threat of grievous bodily harm and are a reason to have force multiplication tools on you. How would this have gone if she had a firearm on her? Heck, even if she had a pepper spray she would have really been in a different spot. Youre a tool user...so have tools on you! 4. I am NOT criticizing her one bit. She did a great job. If she could have, she could really have turned the tide by going on offense rather than staying against the door and playing defense, especially when the two guys came her way. If you cant get out of a fight, GET INTO IT! Attitude. Skills. Plan.
