All this rubbish about people taking nomination forms and claiming some people who appreciate them did it for them. Buhari started by saying his fee was a loan. This only sparked off debates that are yet to subside. The desirability or otherwise of informing us of his source is subject of debate. If it was to show him ordinary, it falls flat. But Buhari is one a different platform because he is not in government. So many politicians in government have picked up nomination papers and claimed that people they represent have offered it to them and paid the cost. The questions they spark are deep and disturbing. They seem to suggest that they have done so excellently that their people insist that they alone are fit to perform creditably and continue. This is sickening. They seem to suggest that left to them, they would not have wanted it, but because of the pressure they budged. They make it appear like that their good deeds hold them captive to serve their people. That is deceptive and fraudulent. All of them without exception can afford the fees and could even be suspected of being the ones bankrolling this goodwill. The height of this fraud is making public a list of people who made such donations. Some will believe because they are propped to believe their principal and hero. Others will refute. Many more would neither believe nor bother to investigate knowing the kind of immoral society we have created for ourselves. Any investigation could meet truth as easily as a dead end or a lying affirmation. Suddenly a government that is unwilling to declare assets (correctly citing the constitution and ignoring a clamouring of sections of the electorate); and a government that keeps tight lips on the identity of citizens who they sent on their misadventure to South Africa....this government suddenly become lavish with the names of people who bought them nomination forms. Anyway, these people giving our leaders money are investors. They should all be investigated. We cant let politicians rape us to death.
