All three,.. Sattwa, Raja, Tama are essential for creation and existence ....in varying degrees.. When all are equally balanced, there is MAHAPRALAYA, just as it is before the beginning of the creation. They keep gaining or losing strength. When you are on a righteous path, Sattwa suporesses the other two. Likewise, when you are dealing with the material world, Rajas suppresses the other two. When you are on an evil path the Tamas suporesses the other two... The corollary is equally valid. But there can be no creation or existence of the material world without all the three together,.. always! These three are like kapha, vaata, pitta in human body which cant exist or function in the absence of any of them. When they are in perfect balance, you are in the best of health. If there is an imbalance, you have complaints or diseases. When all are upset, it is THE END.
