All world cyclists who cycled to Southeast Asia had to skip Myanmar because you could not cross the border between India and Myanmar and Myanmar and Thailand. You could only fly in and out. But, although Myanmarese embassies will give you no advise on crossing the India/Myanmar border, it is now possible to cross the land borders from India into Myanmar with a special permit. For the border Myanmar/Thailand you do not need special permission. We know because we have done it!
