Allah SWT Says in the Quran, First 12 versus in Surah Abasa: 1. The Prophet frowned and turned away 2. Because there came to him the blind man [interrupting]. 3. But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 4. Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 5. As for he who thinks himself without need [the pagan chiefs of Makkah], 6. To him you give attention. 7. And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 8. But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 9. While he fears [ Allah ], 10. From him you are distracted. 11. By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 12. So whoever wills may remember it. These versus were revealed in an incident related to Abdullah Ibn Umm-Maktoom(r.a), and for an instruction to Prophet(s.a.w) Abdullah ibn Maktoom(r.a) was blind by birth. He was among the First reverts to Islam. He was a cousin of Prophets(s.a.w) wife ummul mumineen Khadeejah(RaliAllah Anha) One day, during the early Makkan period, Walid ibn al-Mughira and some other pagan chiefs of Quraish were sitting in the assembly of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), who was earnestly engaged in trying to persuade them to accept Islam. At some point during the meeting, a blind man named Abdullah ibn Maktoom approached the Prophet (s.a.w) abruptly, to seek some clarification on Islam. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) disliked this abrupt interruption of Abdullah ibn Maktoom(r.a) and in his dislike the Prophet (s.a.w) spontaneously frowned and turned his face away from Abdullah ibn Maktoom (r.a.) in an effort to ignore him. So Allah revealed first 12 versus of Surah Abasa to instruct Prophet(s.a.w) and for a guidance to the people who remembers Allah. After this incident, Prophet(s.a.w) used to greet Abdullah ibn Umm-Maktoom(r.a) like this: Welcome to him on whose account my Sustainer has rebuked me
