Allen High School students recently scored 12 national awards from the Journalism Education Association convention held in Washington, D.C. More than 2,000 students from across the United States competed in newspaper, yearbook and broadcast events. Winners were ranked either superior, excellent or honorable mention. There were 122 superior awards given, 263 excellent awards and 444 honorable mentions.
