Allion Elementary school July 9, 2014 2:00 AM Without Prejudice At around 2 am , the odour being emitted from the contaminated soils behind Allion Elementary school was so bad that I decided to call 911 to make sure its safe. This is what one fireman had to say about my call and intervention on this case since September 2, 2013.. Before I started the recorder, the unidentified fireman asked me why I took so long to call 911, this is what followed. Do you think the fireman is out of line by making comments to the media on site instead of concentrating on the emergency ? Very disappointed with the authorities and how everyone has been handling this case since September 2013. The fireman arrived 20 minutes after my call, placed some sand on the oil to absorb it, put a plastic barrier to keep kids away from it and left the park without even locking the door.. As it stands, the Quebec Environment minister is sending an inspector to the site in a few hours, the pile of contaminated soil is still there unprotected and furthermore, kids will be playing in this park 5 feet away from this toxic mess in a few hours. Will someone PLEASE think about the children !!! In the meantime, please keep posted for furter developments as the day goes by..Rest assured that this story will go viral as we are also expexting a mass media presence at Allion Elementary school in a few hours.
