Alluding to my mantra that respect is earned and not - TopicsExpress

Alluding to my mantra that respect is earned and not indiscriminately thrown at people- same as aloha. I have very little respect for people that say they do not get involved and try to hold the state accountable WHILE we strive for the ideal- political autonomy. Why? Because 122 years of destruction THATS WHY. What will we have to save and be sovereign over if we trade our true culture for a 100% reactive culture of protest, belligerence and animosity? Are you striving for a New America? Instead of a sovereign Hawaii? If we are not saving our natural resources and sacred places now- if we are not engaging in the Hawaiian culture that make Nature our Gods then what are we fighting for independence for? Where is the balance of care for now and for the ideal future? Are we guilty of not making time to make sure the so-called stewards of the land now are held accountable? ... DHHL, the State, the occupier the USA, KS, OHA, DLNR etc. Do we have the luxury to spend 100% of our time on idol protests and not take it to the occupier to force it NOW to be accountable for its seizure and therefore responsibility to these lands and the resources there? Kamehameha Schools, DLNR- creation of the forest reserves... are these people romanticizing an urgent and pertinent issue. Our very survival survives on the the urgent and aggressive preservation of our natural reserves- watersheds, ecosystems and cultural and spiritual resources. What people dont understand is that Hawaiian rights/Hawaiian culture is NATURE. Our Gods are Nature. Our religion dying is NATURE dying. If we ignore the watersheds the water is in the process of depreciating itself. Some good quotes summarized: What happens when I go to the legislature is they just look at us as tree huggers... they dont take us seriously... evaluating the environment in DOLLARS AND CENTS... which turned out to be 11 billion [every year]. By rough estimates it looks like we could do a lot of conservation with $20 million dollars. What we are looking at is the future of everyone who lives in Hawaii. Directly related to Aloha Aina, Sacred Mauna Kea, Subsistence, and the fact that we only have 10 days of food stored if the 90% of food we import should once again, as it has multiple times in the past, completely STOPPED. Still got no time to make efforts to hold our so-called representatives accountable and responsible for maintaining our 1.8 million acres of Crown and Hawaiian Kingdom Government lands being exploited currently by, UH, OHA, DHHL, DLNR and the de facto State of Hawaii? sacredmaunakea.wordpress gofundme/ix99w4 What kind of legacy are we leaving our descendants? ALL of us who live in Hawaii?
