Ally McCoist’s men will host the Shielfield Park outfit at Ibrox on Tuesday, August 27 with the game kicking off at 7.45pm. The last-16 fixture had originally been scheduled to take place the previous midweek on either August 20 or 21. But the game couldn’t take place on the Tuesday evening due to American rapper Eminem gigging at nearby Bellahouston Park that night. The day after was also ruled out due to the fact Gers travel to play Airdrie in League One just 48 hours after that. There was no option but to move to the following midweek and it has been agreed the match will take place on the Tuesday evening. The contest will be settled then as well, with extra-time and penalties to follow if the sides remain level after 90 minutes. Gers will be favourites to win after succeeding in three of their four Third Division meetings with the English-based outfit last season. Both outings in Glasgow ended in victories, with a 4-2 success recorded in January before a 1-0 win on the final day of the campaign.//Stevie
