Almighty God, we thank You for life and its faculties, we pray this day for Your divine helping grace. Grant us, dear God, that we not be deceived by gratification in the moments of this life and miss the permanent satisfactions of an everlasting, enduring relationship with You. Bless us this day, O God, and grant us the courage to be brave in affliction, and not be dismayed over humiliations and disappointments; but remain always in harmony with Your will. O God, reveal to us our true selves, not the outer appearance, that we ourselves have shaped; but the inner man, that has surrendered to the influence of Your word and the power of Your spirit which dwells within. Make us sure of who we are, what we are, and most importantly, whose we are, that we may not spend our days in questioning, but accept with gratefulness Your will; worthy of being called children of the Most High. Steady us in our affections, dear God, and save us from wandering impulses, that we might seek always to put wrong down and uplift humanity. Lord, help us to realize that we cannot feel the joy that breathes through the early morning unless we are with it; keep our hearts be mindful of You, that we may discover the truth today and possess it; and cause us to see distinctly the glory of to-day, everyday! In the matchless name of Jesus the Christ, we do pray and declare it all. Amen.
