Almost as many people may have been killed in the Baga Massacre as died on 9/11 (over 2000 people, but in all honesty no one really knows because no ones bothered to go and check). Unfortunately, this happened around the same time as the Charlie Hebdo shootings, in which 17 westerners were killed, so was only seen as a minor news story. Since then, world leaders have decided to prioritise ostentatious displays of their purported support for freedom of speech, including representatives from Russia, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Bahrain, Saudi, Gabon, Hungary, etc. All the while the world ignores what is basically a civil war in one of Africas richest nations, in which Boko Haram command an area almost twice the size of Islamic state (though with an 1/8th of the population) and have even started attacking Cameroon. There has been little talk of adding to the meager offers of satellite intel and training assistance to Nigeria, and whats worse is, unlike in Iraq, the Nigerian government have not even requested assistance, preferring to continue to deny the north is essentially becoming a failed state So please sign this petition asking the UN to convene an emergency Security Council meeting and prioritise this crisis.
