Almost everyone around here knows not to stack a freshly painted - TopicsExpress

Almost everyone around here knows not to stack a freshly painted surface against another fresh surface. Others know not to close a window against another window. Or close a hanging door against the door jamb. For example, the carpet installers pull and stack doors against walls in new construction painting. They often put strips of carpet padding or cardboard in-between each door so they dont stick. Painters apply these sticky non-blocking paints to thousands of new homes each month. And, just like clockwork, the doors stick to the jambs. Then the painters touch-up or fix each door and jamb. Do you realize how few paints allow you to stack fresh surfaces against another? Some paints are tacky for weeks after they were painted, some paints stay tacky for a couple months. I choose not to belong to the tacky door club. Anytime you put more time into fixing something than it took to paint something in the first place ⎯-there is something wrong with that.
