Almost shat myself again on Monday. Drove to Toowoomba in the work truck to deliver near the airport. Zipped up the range and was coming down to the sharp right turn into James Street in the drizzling rain. Im watching a clown in an Isuzu F series 500 fridge truck flying into the corner but he got around okay. As I neared the corner barely doing 60kph with exhaust brake on, I braked slightly for extra safety and the truck started sliding! Full right lock to flick the arse around and just hold on! Did a 270 degree spin with the back left duals sitting on the James Street traffic island, looking at the oncoming traffic including B-double that I had just recently passed coming up the range. With as much dignity as I could muster, I reversed into a nearby driveway and let the traffic pass. Straightening my collar, I then proceeded in an orderly fashion to the next service station. May I have the key to the restroom please? (Its a shit of a truck in the wet. Already had three previous occasions of sliding in the wet. Now I know why the last driver had a used roll of toilet paper behind the passenger seat!)
